Mast Landing School

Grade 5 Teacher (Long Term Sub) - we are seeking a passionate, collaborative educator as a long-term substitute for a 5th grade classroom from approximately September 21 - December 15, 2016.  Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching EveryDay Math and Teachers College Readers' Workshop.  Individual must hold a current State of Maine 020 - General Elementary certification.

Freeport High School

Administrative Secretary for Athletic Dept.-  20 hrs/ Main Office Secretary -15 hrs

Admin Secretary position works 39 weeks per year/ Office Secretary position works 35 weeks per year.

This position provides administrative support to the Office of the RSU5 Athletic Administrator and secretarial support to the high school main office.  A minimum of three years experience as an administrative secretary is preferred.   The candidate must have the ability to exercise independent judgment, prioritize tasks, and work independently with a degree of accuracy in a fast paced office environment.  Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills are a must as are excellent technology and bookkeeping skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly.   The candidate must be upbeat, personable, have a “can-do” attitude with excellent customer service skills, as he/ she will be the first line of communication with parents, students, boosters, and coaches.   Position start date is August 15, 2016. 

District

Full Time Custodian - Custodian works 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week year round, evening hours during school year, the position will do custodial work in a school setting including classrooms, restrooms and common areas.  One-year experience with typical custodian equipment and duties required.  Position start date is July 1, 2016.

Community Programs

Recreation CoordinatorCoordinator works 8 hours a day 40 hours week year round.  Position joins a cooperative and dynamic team at RSU5 Community Programs. This job will coordinate and established recreation program that offers a wide variety of recreation, enrichment and athletic opportunities for youth ad adults in Durham, Freeport and Pownal. Job responsibilities include planning, coordinating, hiring and scheduling staff, overseeing department and developing program budgets. The Coordinator will develop and expand programs as needed to meet the changing needs and desires of RSU5 residents.  A Bachelors degree in recreation or other related field required with 3+ years experience preferred.  Position start date is July 18, 2016.

Assistant Principal - this position assists in the development of the school's goals and objectives; provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs; assists in supervising and evaluating staff; establishes and oversees disciplinary and attendance procedures; represents Freeport High School in various capacities; and develops or supports other school initiatives assigned by the building Principal.

Anticipated Ed Tech II (15 hours per week) - this position will provide in class and pull out support for students who are not meeting standards in reading, writing or math.  Individual must possess a valid 022 - Educational Technician II Authorization from the State of Maine.

Ed Tech III (32.5 hours per week) - this position will provide academic and behavioral support to students with disabilities.  Experience working with students with special needs is desired.  Individual must possess a valid 023 - Educational Technician III Authorization from the State of Maine.

Requirements: Clean driving record, ability to pass a road test, CDL license with P & S endorsements; five years driving and two years custodial experience preferred. Individuals must obtain a Criminal History Background Certificate (CHRC) from the Maine Department of Education.

Fill in on various bus routes as needed including daily routes, sports and field trips. Individual will perform custodial work when not driving bus to complete a 40-hour workweek.

.6 Technology Teacher (1 year only) - Mast Landing School in Freeport, ME, seeks a motivated, creative education to plan and teach weekly, digital literacy classes for students in grade 3-5.  While technology-specific teaching experience is not required, a successful candidate will have familiarity with Mac OS and applications and the ability to collaborate with teachers across the content areas to support their use of technology to facilitate teaching and student learning.   Must hold a current State of Maine 680 - Computer Technology certificate.

District-Wide

Anticipated Board Certified Behavior Analyst - to provide consultations to staff to improve programming for students with behavioral challenges.  Must be licensed as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and hold a current State of Maine Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).

Sub bus drivers will drive for sports and/or field trips and cover regular bus runs as needed, on an on call basis; hours vary; pay is $17.58 per hour.
