Freeport High School

AP Literature/English Language Arts Teacher - the ideal candidate will have experience with proficiency-based education, thrive in a collegial environment, have experience in working as part of a teaching team, and will contribute to the strength of our school and community.  Must hold a current State of Maine 100 English/Language Arts certificate. 

Freeport Middle School

.65 ELA Teacher (1 year only) - Individual will need to be able successfully integrate technology into their instruction.  An understanding of proficiency-based education is needed.  The teacher needs to be able to positively connect with students in order to educate the whole child.   Candidate will have a successful middle level math teaching experience and hold a current State of Maine 100 - Mathematics (7-12) certification or 020 - General Elementary K-8.

Community Programs

Preschool Teacher - 40 hours per week/school year

This is a team teaching position in the RSU5 Community Program's Laugh & Learn Preschool.  This full-time, school-year position includes covering a half-day preschool plus aftercare for the Morse Street School, a primary K-2 school.  Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and working with the other preschool teachers to provide a continuum of care for students age 3 through 5.  Knowledge of Maine's Early Learning and Development Standards is required.

Position requires a college degree (preferably in Early Child Education) and a valid CHRC (fingerprinting) from the Maine Department of Education (can be obtained after hire).

Freeport High School

Geometry Teacher (Long Term Sub) - we are seeking a passionate, collaborative educator as a long-term substitute for high school geometry from approximately August 31 - November 30, 2016.  Individual must hold a current State of Maine 300 - Mathematics (7-12) certification. 

Office Secretary (22 hours per week) - individual will be responsible for tracking down all attendance issues and assisting with main office tasks.  School administrative experience is preferred; technology skills, including Word and Excel are required.

Freeport Middle School

BUS DRIVER/CUSTODIAN

Requirements: Clean driving record, ability to pass a road test, CDL license with P & S endorsements; five years driving and two years custodial experience preferred. Individuals must obtain a Criminal History Background Certificate (CHRC) from the Maine Department of Education.

Fill in on various bus routes as needed including daily routes, sports and field trips. Individual will perform custodial work when not driving bus to complete a 40-hour workweek.

Base pay for custodial is $16.74 per hour; $18.02 for bus driving (both may increase with experience)

Mast Landing School

.6 Technology Teacher (1 year only) - Mast Landing School in Freeport, ME, seeks a motivated, creative education to plan and teach weekly, digital literacy classes for students in grade 3-5.  While technology-specific teaching experience is not required, a successful candidate will have familiarity with Mac OS and applications and the ability to collaborate with teachers across the content areas to support their use of technology to facilitate teaching and student learning.   Must hold a current State of Maine 680 - Computer Technology certificate.

District-Wide

Anticipated Board Certified Behavior Analyst - to provide consultations to staff to improve programming for students with behavioral challenges.  Must be licensed as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and hold a current State of Maine Criminal History Records Check (CHRC).
