RSU5 Recreation & Community Education

Childcare Coordinator

RSU5 Recreation & Community Education (RCE) is seeking a qualified and experienced Childcare Coordinator to lead an established program throughout the RSU5 School District. This position is responsible for overseeing our Before & After care and Preschool programs at three schools, two in Freeport and one in Durham.  As the Childcare Coordinator, you'll have a chance to inspire passion in your teachers, connect with children and families in the program and make a positive difference in their daily lives. The coordinator plays a key role in creating and refining the program's culture by supporting teachers in the development of curriculum while promoting and maintaining a positive image of our program in the community. Additional duties include overseeing our summer day camp program, Camp Seaside, as the onsite Camp Director working closely with RCE's Assistant Director for a quality camp program.  

Experience Needed:

* Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and three years direct childcare experience

* A minimum of 2 years staff management/leadership experience

* Demonstrated toddler or preschool teaching experience

* Strong leadership, supervisory and customer service skills and the ability to create and maintain positive partnerships with families and staff.  

* Recruit, hire, train, manage and evaluate staff for preschool, childcare and summer day camp programs throughout the year

* Well versed in DHHS accreditation and licensing standards. Must be a member of Maine Roads to Quality registry or be able to meet eligibility requirements

RSU5 is seeking a Human Resource Coordinator to work in the Business Office.  Job responsibilities include: maintain personnel records, administer hiring process, benefit administration, maintain CHRC records, input and maintenance of MEDMS staff information, process FMLA requests, process employee leave requests, prepare and maintain employee contracts and wage agreements, and process bi-weekly payroll electronically.  Must demonstrate computer proficiency and possess a positive professional attitude.  Potential candidate must be able to work independently as well as with a team.
